The Gustav Mahler Foundation Netherlands is committed to keeping attention to Gustav Mahler and his music alive, with a particular focus on his role in Dutch musical life. We do this through publications, events, research and exclusive activities for donors.
Mission and objectives
The mission of the Gustav Mahler Foundation Netherlands is to keep alive the spotlight on Gustav Mahler and his music, and his special place in Dutch musical life.
To achieve this, the Gustav Mahler Foundation Netherlands offers for its donors:
- the magazine Gustav Mahler Magazine On Gustav Mahler's life and work as a mirror of his times;
- the e-mail newsletter Mahler News with the latest 'Mahleriana';
- Mahler days with lectures by leading speakers and challenging work formats;
- an online knowledge centre including an (articles) database, news, videos and podcasts.
- News about concerts, reviews of recordings and releases from home and abroad;
- the opportunity to attend orchestral rehearsals of Mahler concerts;
- the publication of special productions, such as books, CDs and DVDs.
Finally, the Gustav Mahler Foundation promotes scientific research and manages the Mahler Archive at the Netherlands Music Institute(NMI) in The Hague. The GMSN's book collection at the NMI can be accessed by entering the catalogue search using the search term "mahler collection".
